Presentation of IPCC WGI AR5 at the European Geosciences Union General Assembly 2014, Vienna

On Wednesday 30 April 2014, there will be a Union Session (US4) and three Climate Sessions at the European Geosciences Union General Assembly 2014 in Vienna, Austria, under the overarching title of IPCC Working Group I AR5.

 

The EGU Union Session 2014 (US4), which takes place at 15:30-17:00, will highlight the interdisciplinary character of the IPCC assessment and include high level presentations providing summaries of all three Working Group contributions to the IPCC AR5 Assessments. The three Climate Sessions are:
08:30-10:00 CL1.1, Observed Climate Change
10:30-12:00 CL1.2, Understanding Climate Change
13:30-15:00 CL1.3, Projecting Climate Change

17:30-19:00 Joint poster session for CL1.1, CL1.2 and CL1.3.

Each of these three sessions will include two invited keynote presentations providing an overview of the topic as well as other oral presentations and posters. These sessions will give WGI AR5 authors and scientists not involved in WGI AR5 the opportunity to (1) showcase the results of the WGI AR5 assessment, (2) provide more recent science results published after March 15, 2013, the cut-off date for WGI AR5, and (3) take a look at future scientific challenges.
